Welcome

A community built on
football and family

Altona North Soccer Club has called D.N. Duane Reserve home since 1975. What began as a small grassroots club founded by a tight-knit group of local families has grown into one of Melbourne's west's most respected community football clubs, with players ranging from five-year-olds in our Miniroos program through to senior men competing in Football Victoria State League 2 North/West.

We are, and always have been, a club for everyone. Whether you are a parent looking for a welcoming environment for your child to learn the game, a serious competitor chasing promotion, or a long-time supporter who has seen generations of players come through Duane Reserve, you belong here. Our identity is rooted in inclusivity, hard work, and the friendships that football builds.

Across nearly fifty years, the colours have stayed the same, the love of the game has stayed the same, and the people of Brooklyn and Altona North have stayed at the heart of everything we do. This is who we are.

Our History

Five Decades
In the Making

From a handful of local families forming a club in 1975 to back-to-back promotions in the 2020s, the ANSC story has been written by the people who love it.

1975

The Beginning

Altona North Soccer Club is founded by a group of local families with a shared vision: a community football club where everyone belongs. The first matches are played at D.N. Duane Reserve in Brooklyn, the ground that would become home for the next half century.

Building the Identity

Through the 1990s the club builds out its junior structure and forges fierce local rivalries with neighbouring sides. Long-running matches against teams like Tarxien define the era and cement Duane Reserve as one of the inner-west's loved football grounds.

State League 4 Champions

A breakthrough season for the senior men. ANSC lifts the State League 4 title and earns promotion, signalling the start of a new era and laying the foundation for the on-pitch success that would follow in the years ahead.

Another championship, another promotion. The senior men win the State League 3 title and earn their place in State League 2 North/West, the highest level the club has competed at in decades.

A New Chapter

ANSC enters its second half-century proud of where it has come from and excited about where it is going. A senior men's side competing in State League 2, a thriving junior pathway from U7 to U14, and a community that grows every season.

Silverware never tells the full story of a community football club, but it does mark the moments worth remembering. Two senior league titles in five seasons have lifted Altona North through the Football Victoria pyramid and into State League 2 for the first time in a generation.

The Crest & Colours

Blue, White
and Red

Navy blue, white and red have defined the Altona North identity from the very first season. The colours were chosen by the club's founders and have been worn proudly by every player who has pulled on the shirt since 1975.

Across nearly fifty years the kit has evolved with the times, but the core identity has never changed. The crest, the colours, the home jersey at Duane Reserve - it all means the same thing: this is our club, and these are our colours.
